PHOTOGRAPHY COMPETITION

Don't forget that we are currently running the Grove Wood Photography competition!  The focus of the competition is Rayleigh.  Children can choose one of the landmarks as their subject, or they can choose to concentrate on other aspects of where they live, such as the woods, park or event the school.

It is important that the children take photographs themselves and are not in them.  All   entries should be brought into the school on a photo no larger than a 5x7 print, clearly marked with your child's name and class and age.  if possible we would also ask you to email a digital copy of the print to gwpsphotos@grovewood.essex.sch.uk so that we can display themon the screen at the schoo entrance.

                                                                                                        

Book Week

Monday 6th Feb - Thursday 9th Feb
To celebrate book week there school will be running competitions for both KS1 and KS2.
There will also be a reading race, whereby we will be asking parents and carers to sign their child's reading journal and help their child earn housepoints.
  
There will also be the Book Fayr, which will take place in the KS1 hall each afternoon after school.
            
ICT SUITE REFURBISHMENT
 
As part of the school development plan, we have been working hard to extend and improve the ICT provision within the school. Over the coming term we will be providing opportunities for parents and carers to come into the school for practical workshops on the new equipment.  Details will follow... 

Wednesday Afternoon Open Door

We will be resuming the open door slot from next Wednesday, giving all parents/carers of children in Years 1-6 the opportunity to come into school for the first twenty minutes after school to share your child’s work with them and look at work up around the school.
